Iran and Venezuela have launched construction of joint petrochemical plants.
One methanol facility will have an annual capacity of 1.65 million tons and is set to be built on Iran's Persian Gulf coast. Another methanol plant will be built in Venezuela and will take four years to complete.
It aims to help Iran access the Latin American market, and bring Venezuela closer to India and Pakistan.
