Helicopters have been dropping relief aid to some of the coastal communities cut off by floods in Pakistan.

200,000 houses have been destroyed, and more than 800,000 people have been affected by the floods, which were caused by heavy rains and spillovers from rivers and dams. The cyclone struck the coastline of Baluchistan on Tuesday, killing at least 12 people.

More people may have drowned in the Arabian Sea, but no estimates are available. According to NATO, severe floods also ravaged four provinces in neighboring Afghanistan. No report on the number of casualties is available so far.
