Mottaki: UN has no right to stop Iran´s enrichment

Iran's foreign minister, Manouchehr Mottaki, says the UN Security Council has no right to stop Tehran enriching uranium. He made the remark while on a visit to Nicaragua.

Mottaki says exploiting peaceful nuclear technology is a legitimate and indispensable right of the Iranian people. He says Tehran does not accept Iran's case being passed from the International Atomic Energy Agency to the the Security Council.

Iran has been uping the ante in a standoff with the Council, which has demanded a halt to enrichment over fears Tehran is seeking to build nuclear bombs. The Council has passed two sanction resolutions on Iran since December.
