Traffic authorities in Beijing tested 38 vehicles from a local renting company to serve the upcoming annual sessions of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in Beijing on Feb 15.

The Beijing Traffic Administration Bureau says safety trainings have also been organized for drivers.

Beijing started to test the vehicles for the political sessions, including their exterior, interior, chassis, engine and braking systems from February 14. All cars need to pass the road test and new cars must have been driven for over 500 km before being tested.

The NPC is the top legislative body in China, while the CPPCC is a broad-based national advisory organization consisting of experts and citizens from all walks of life.
