Turkmenistan pledges to strengthen ties with China

The president of Turkmenistan, Gur-bun-gali Ber-dy-mu-kha-me-dov says his country is proud of its friendship with China, and wants to strengthen and expand ties.

Berdymukhanedov says Turkmenistan will steadfastly adhere to the policy of permanent neutrality set by the former president. He also said the country is trying to diversify its export routes, adding cooperation with China in the energy sector has a large potential.

The president pledged to push forward bilateral relations for the benefit of the two peoples, and expressed hope that more major Chinese companies will enter the Turkmen market.
