US and DPRK negotiators have ended three days of discussions in Berlin. They made no comment on the chances of a breakthrough in the six-party nuclear talks.

A spokesman for the US Embassy said Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill had left the German capital and was en route to Asia. Hill himself made no comment following Thursday's informal discussions with his DPRK counterpart, Kim Kye-gwan.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Condolezza Rice has voiced hopes that the six-party talks will resume soon. She said the bilateral discussions may help to pave the way for a more favorable atmosphere.

Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Liu Jianchao says China welcomes the talks between US and DPRK officials in Berlin. And China hopes the meeting can advance the prospects for the resumption of the six-party talks.
