The Vietnamese capital of Hanoi is gearing up to welcome leaders from 19 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation member economies. They'll be taking part in the APEC Informal Leadership meeting set for this weekend.

Vietnam is playing host to this year's APEC Meeting. It's also making its debut on the world stage as the newest soon-to-be member of the World Trade Organization. Preparations for the meeting are already well underway. And security has been stepped up around its main venue, the National Convention Center. This will be the largest international event Vietnam has ever hosted. The meeting will discuss international and regional issues, including implementing a free trade and investment pact among APEC members, and resuming the stalled Doha Round of trade talks.
