The Forbidden City (a.k.a. the Palace Museum) in Beijing is where past emperors of China lived and ruled the nation from.

It now has one of the largest collections of precious artifacts that are considered national treasures.

There is also a Palace Museum in Taipei, Taiwan, even though there has never been an emperor on the island. However, collections of this museum include paintings, calligraphy, rare books, historical documents and ceramics, as well as jade and bronze ware that number more than 600,000 pieces.

Some of the bronze vessels of the museum date back thousands of years, which have always been treated as national treasures as well.
