This Sunday is the traditional Chinese Moon Festival. Chinese families use the opportunity to get together and eat a holiday delight known as mooncakes. The festival falls on the fifteenth day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar. But many Chinese people consider the start of the Moon Festival as falling on the first full moon of mid-autumn. The festival is an occasion for family reunions -- because in China the round shape of the moon symbolizes family reunion.
