Countries around the world have given their reactions to the second London bombings in just two weeks. Security measures in major cities are also being stepped up to prevent further terrorist attacks.
Australian Prime Minister John Howard, currently on a visit to Britain, said the terrorists were driven by a twisted interpretation of Islam.
Howard said, "And that is a perverted, twisted, totally immoral extreme Islam, I think that is their motivation."
In New York, home to one of the largest subway systems in the world, security measures are being stepped up. On Thursday, police began random searches of bags and packages carried by people entering city subways.
French President Jacque Chirac, who is on an official visit to Madagascar, has also expressed his support to the British people and vowed to fight terrorism following the latest attacks.
