In Bangkok, Thai-Chinese groups have also voiced their support for the law. Around 300 delegates agreed that China's adoption of the Anti-Secession Law highlights the determination of all Chinese people to oppose the "Taiwan independence" forces, who are trying to secure Taiwan's secession from China. The delegates said the law will also safeguard peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait through legal means. The president of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Boonsong Srifuengfung, said that the law reflects the basic position and goodwill of the Chinese government to promote peaceful reunification, and is a heavy blow to secessionists.
