The presidium members of the second session of the tenth National People's Congress have submitted the final version of the draft constitution amendment for vote during today's session. The vote follows a week of discussions surrounding the amendment, which was put forward by the NPC Standing Committee at the beginning of the current session.

The amendment was submitted on Saturday afternoon when the NPC held its third presidium meeting and includes 14 revisions.

Topping the list is the much-anticipated protection of private property and respect for human rights.

The presidium also set forth for vote, draft resolutions concerning the work reports of the NPC Standing Committee, as well as the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate.

In other highlights, the NPC's Vice Secretary-General, Sheng Huaren, addressed the presidium saying the session's Secretariat have received more than 1,300 motions from deputies. He proposed that nearly half of them be taken as bills to be submitted to the NPC special committees.
