China's farming sector is set to get a helping hand. About one million jobs are expected to supply as the country tries to improve the processing of its agricultural products this year. This will also put much-needed money in farmers鈥檖ockets.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the promotional measures include training classes, introduction of advanced foreign techniques, and establishing export-oriented processing bases. The move will promote applying technology to the agri-products processing sector. The ministry says, in five years, it will have a feasible and matured standards, quality and safety checking system.

China's Ministry of Agriculture says:"With these promotional measures, we will provide one million additional jobs for farmers every year. And increase farmers' annual per capita income by 20 Yuan."

Currently, China's agri-processing sector is growing at 8.6 percent annually. Still, the ratio to total output is 0.6 to 1, and lags far behind developed countries. The ministry says the measures will help improve the overall competitiveness of China's agricultural sector-- enabling it to handle shocks from the in-flood of foreign agri-products.
