The number of domestic travellers was 870 million, down by 0.9 percent over 2002. The total revenue from domestic travellers reached 41.6 billion US dollars, down 1.2 percent. Total tourism revenue in 2003 dropped some 12 percent over 2002. However, starting from October 2003, the number of overseas travellers increased sharply, surpassed that of the same period in 2002.
