With China's Spring Festival, a traditional time for family gatherings just around the corner, Beijing has been busy implementing strict preventative measures to ensure the safety of travelers from SARS.

Some 7.25 million passengers are expected to leave Beijing by train during the 40-day peak travel season, which began on January 7th. Disinfection measures have been stepped up at railway stations, airports and long distance bus depots, and passengers with a temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius or above will be advised to stay in Beijing for further consultation.
