Chinese premier begins Ethiopia visit

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has begun his official visit to Ethiopia in the capital Addis Ababa. He's to attend the opening ceremony of the Second Ministerial Conference of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum.

In a written statement at the airport, the premier said it was the common desire of Chinese and African people to enhance friendly contact and establish a new partnership based on long-term stability and cooperation. Premier Wen will hold talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi and other African leaders on Sino-African relations, plus regional and international issues of common concern.
