CCTV-4 (INTERNATIONAL) 08-05-2003 17:07

CCTV-4 mainly serves overseas audiences and residents in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. The channel was launched on October 1, 1992, and virtually covers the world via eight satellites.

CCTV-4 is on air 24 hours a day. Specializing in news reports, CCTV-4 rotates its programs three times a day.

With an objective approach, CCTV-4 introduces various aspects of China to the rest of the world-politics, economy, society, culture, science, education, and history, acting as a window on China for overseas audiences and a bridge between China and the rest of the world. Its goal is to deepen mutual understanding and promote friendship.

In recent years, CCTV has gradually established cooperation ties with a number of overseas media, by adding CCTV-4's programs into their local cable and satellite networks. It's now accessible to viewers in many countries around the world.
