小朋友，看这个故事！爷爷带着孩子们开车兜风。我们今天的故事就是：Where are we going, granddad?小朋友，你一定知道孩子们问了爷爷什么。我们把它读出来！“Where are” or “Where we”? Where are … ? Where we … ? Yes! 应该是“Where are” 然后呢？Where are … we. Yes that’s right! Where are we …然后呢？看，小写字母g。Where are we “g_______” “going”. You got it!
Where are we going … 这儿还有g，是大写的G。“Where are we going … Grandad?” Good. That’s it! “Where are we going, Grandad?”你一定还记得问号吧！question mark! 你知道他们先去哪儿了吗？以字母b开头的单词，这个地方就是beach海边。
They’re going to the beach.这次他们去哪儿了呢？给你点儿提示，这儿是一个以字母z开头的地方，里面还有好多动物。猜到了吧！是动物园zoo。They are going to the zoo. 你猜，爷爷还会带孩子们去哪儿呢？这儿看起来挺好玩的！这个大家伙是什么？是太空船吗？他们坐上太空船要去……看，他们去月球了！哇！乘太空船去月球简直太刺激了！

第二个小故事: Cat and Bird
小朋友，你看到猫的两只大眼睛了吗？它在看什么呢？我猜它是在找小鸟吧！你看故事就是讲：Cat and 以字母B开头的单词：你认识的——Bird。真聪明！哦！猫真的想抓这只鸟呢！看它小心翼翼地样子。The bird is going over the grass. Now the …以c开头的单词，是……What is going over the grass? Yes “cat” The cat is going over the grass.鸟可不会等着猫来抓！It’s going into the tree.
猫也爬上树。你猜，它能抓到鸟吗？看！鸟儿得意的看着猫，接着，它飞向了天空。The bird is going into the sky.这下猫可抓不到它了，！聪明的小鸟安全了！等一下！The cat is going into the sky. 猫儿也飞向天空，可是它好像忘了一件事，猫可不会飞哦！它掉了下来，听它一声惨叫：Miaow! 我想它是要说：“I can’t fly!”
Second Read：
好了，刚才我们知道了猫想飞的故事。再一起把它读一遍怎么样？故事就叫：Cat and Bird. 鸟儿要去哪儿？Yes “over”. over这里指“走过”。The bird is going over the grass. The cat is going over the grass. The bird is going not “over”… it’s “into”这里要用into，飞上树：… into the tree. The cat is going … into the tree.
The bird is going … into the sky. The cat is going … into the sky. Miaow! Miaow是什么意思？我猜它是想说：“I can’t fly.”你读得棒极了！
Alphabet Game：
看，一条蛇！注意它在变，蛇变成了单词snake。看这张图片会变成什么单词呢？对了！是：cat! 这个呢?你认识的。是：bird!再看这张图片：The moon! 爷爷带我们去过的！再看最后一个：哇！A crocodile!

字母汤：
alligator以字母a开头，bat以字母b开头，cat呢？你知道的，是c。还有以字母c开头的单词，你瞧，它来了，Yes it’s a car. There’s a d for dinosaur. 这是：鸡蛋egg，从里面出来一个……字母e，e for egg.
你知道fish的开头字母，是f，f for fish with a wooden leg.

1. Big shop in the town. People going up and down. Doors swinging round about. People going in and out。Hello, everybody. 大家一定纳闷儿，今天XXX怎么这么高兴？Because I will go shopping today! What will I buy? A computer! I will buy a computer! 我呀，要买一台计算机。Computer, computer,计算机。但是商店里有那么多计算机，该买哪台好呢？咦，真巧！Smart 一家怎么也来买计算机了？不如咱们先跟他们逛一逛再说吧？

5. Let’s buy this one.这不，爸爸看中了一台笔记本电脑。It’s small and powerful. 这台小巧而功能强大的计算机令妈妈感到很满意，所以她赞同说：That’s a good idea! Idea, idea, 意见，同学们，如果你参同别人的意见，也可以说：That’s a good idea. That’s a good idea. 而且妈妈还补充说：And I can take it to school. 我可以把这台计算机带到学校去呢。逛了半天，看来这台计算机有希望买下啰！只是Sam 和Amy 好象有点失望哦？

Zoe：Hi, everyone, welcome to Goal. This is unit 2 part 4
Cui ：在上一集中马尼和Paul经历了他们来到伦敦后的第一次训练，Zoe，how do you think of their performance？
Z：I think they did ok，but Manni seems exhausted and frustrated。
He is a newcomer here，and he had to star his life from the very beginning。
cui：不过还好，教练专门安排了Sophie为他们进行体能训练，使他们能尽快适应，而且，Emma对马尼也不错，为了他的生日，又是准备礼物，又张罗开party。
Z：Yes，she is kind-hearted，but not everyone treat Manni as well as Emma，Paul is quit mean to Manni，so let`s see today`s vedio，Alex is quite concern about Paul`s attitude to Manni。
Cui ：教练Alex也许看出了他儿子总是和马尼有点过不去，所以他让Paul照顾好Manni，Paul回答得十分勉强。
Zoe：“OK, I will if you want. Why do you want me to do it?”
cui：“如果你要这么办，我会的。”.但Paul追问为什么，他不相信父亲对新来的小个子球员如此重视。
Zoe ：Last time, at the pitch, Alex said Manni was not fit enough and not fast enough, but in fact he felt that Manni was really good and he was quite exited by him.
Cui ：Alex 说“I'm very excited by him” 他让我十分激动。看来教练Alex对马尼还是挺满意的。
Zoe ：Alex said: "I think he could be great for the club, if we look after him properly."
Cui ：如果我们把他照顾好，他会对俱乐部做出出色贡献的。He could be great for the club.
Z：Properly means suitably and correctly，it is a very useful word。
C：Properly，合适的，恰当的。For example：
例句： You cook it properly。 你煮的恰到好处。
You hold the brush properly。你毛笔握的恰好。
These pages are not in their proper order，page 2 comes after page 6。这些页数顺序不对，第2页跑到第6页后面去了。
Cui ：Alex 认为Manni体力尚弱，需要加强体能训练。obviously 显然。
Zoe：Manni obviously needs building up physically. Physically is with regard to the body，we can say physically fit。
cui：Physically一般是指身体上的，体力方面。needs building up physically中build up 是个很有用的词组，build大家都知道是建筑、建设的意思，加上介词up，就有在尺寸上、或力量上的一种扩大、增长，也可以解释为某种事物的不断发展。
For example：
It took him 20 years to build up his business。
他用了20年的时间来发展他的事业。
A good reputation can not be built up overnight。
好名声可不是一夜之间可以得来的。
After 6 weeks in the hospital he needs building up。
经过6个星期住院，他需要增强他的体能了。
He`s been built up by the media as one of the heroes of our time。
他被媒体吹捧成了我们这个时代的英雄。
Zoe：Yes，Manni needs building up physically。But Alx thought he`s got great footwork。
Cui ：Footwork 脚下功夫。 Footwork一般指足球、拳击的脚下工夫，还有舞蹈中舞步都是Footwork，我们还知道handwork，当然是手上的工夫了，也就是手艺，手工艺品。
Zoe：Quite interesting。But Paul doesn`t think Manni`s footwork is as good as what Alex said。He said：I didn't see anything that special.
Cui：Paul听父亲夸奖Manni，心里很不服气。他说我看不出有那么特别，that在这里是个指示代词，比如：He is about that high。他大约有这么高。
Zoe ：Alex thought that Manni and Paul would be the 2 main striker in the team。
Cui ：Alex 认为Manni 将与Paul一起成为该队两个主要的前锋队员，striker前锋队员，在足球布阵中，前锋stiker是起主要进攻作用的射手，另外还有在中场传球的中场队员midfield men，还有保护自己球门的后卫队员defender。
Zoe ：So remember the striker the midfield men and the defender，then you may understand the line-up of the soccer。Paul can not accept that Manni will catch up with him one day，but Alex says, I mean it. Maybe he would even take your place one day!
Cui ：Alex 真是一个很有经验的教练，刚刚一次训练，他就慧眼识珠，（伯乐相马）看出了马尼是很有潜力的运动员，说 Paul，我是这个意思，也许他甚至会替掉你的位置。
Z ：It's really a great pressure on Paul. Being his father, Alex asked Paul to go back home, but Paul take this chance telling his father that Manni will have a party this evening.
C：A party? 马尼刚来就要搞party，教练不太高兴了，Paul 也达到了目的，便顺口说了一句，If I can， I`ll try to pop round the house。
Z：Pop means go 、come suddenly or unexpectedly。So Paul didn`t plan to go back home。
c：Paul 其实没打算回家看看，只说：我没准儿、兴许会回去一下吧。
好，我们接着往下看，在下面的片子了，马尼为了感谢爱玛为他操办生日聚会，来到了爱玛的房间，发现爱玛不仅是旅馆的接待员，还很有才华和抱负。
崔：马尼去感谢爱玛，爱玛也因为前一天让马尼流浪街头的事向他道歉，马尼说：No，forget it！忘了吧，别再提它了，没关系的。
Zoe ：Manni found a lot of new shirts in Emma`s room，Emma told him：Oh, they're just shirts that I make. I love making clothes.
Cui ：Emma 喜欢缝制衬衫，她说
Zoe ：I love making them, choosing the materials, the colours, thinking up new designs。
Cui ：我喜欢做衬衣，选面料choosing the materials，选颜色choosing the colours，构思新的设计thinking up new designs, 问是不是业余爱好，一时又想不起这个单词。
Cui ：Manni 的母亲是拉美某国当地的英语教员，因此对于一般的英语交际他没有问题。但是毕竟英语是第二外语，有些生词也常常卡住，和我们一样。
Zoe ：Emma explains, I earn money from working in the hotel and that pays for my design course, but I'd love to be a fashion designer.
Cui ：Emma在叔叔的旅馆打工，挣了钱好去进修设计课程，但自己想当一名时装设计师。A fashion designer.
Zoe ：Yes，she is quite ambitious。Manni said ：I think you could!
Cui ：马尼告诉爱玛：你一定能行，I think you could，为什么不用can?因为在这里谈理想，谈未来，我们往往用虚拟语气。
Zoe ：Then Emma wants Manni to have one of her shirt as a birthday present. But Manni said：I couldn't possibly...
Cui ：不，真的不行。他用I couldn't possibly take it. 这里could 用在谢绝上，比can 更委婉一些。
Zoe ：So Emma said ： You could wear it to the party.
Cui ：这里作为一种建议，也用了could而不用can，使语气显得更加礼貌。马尼这才接受了，高兴地说，It`s a great idea！
Cui ：马尼的生日party很热闹，he really fells at home。Manni 还把女友Lucia 的照片拿给Sophie看。
Zoe ：Sophie says： She's gorgeous.
Cui ：Gorgeous 不同于beautiful 或者pretty，指那种属于模特电影明星特有的耀眼的艳丽。Manni很感激Emma 为他操办的party。
Zoe ：He said：Thank you for organizing the party. It's fantastic.
崔：Manni用的是organizing 这个词，组织一个party. Manni为了第二天的训练不想搞得太累，要回去睡觉。参加试训的Peter 也要走。
Zoe ：But Paul stopped him. He said: No way, it's your birthday. You've got to enjoy yourself.
Cui ：Paul明知教练对Manni期望很大，要求严格，Manni应该早点休息，可他却说，别走，你的生日，你得好好享受一下enjoy yourself。Manni 非常不情愿，又碍于面子，只好让步。
Zoe：Paul remembered that his father has told him to look after Manni，so he came out，talking to the public as if he was a leader and big brother。
Cui ：Paul这时站出来发表了一番冠冕堂皇的讲话。我们来听听他的讲话，这些套话我们以后参加party也许会用得着。
Zoe ：Paul makes a long speech. He says：Sorry to stop all the fun, but I just want to say that blabla。。。
Cui ：在晚会、聚会时，有人要通知什么事，或者发表什么祝辞，说话人一般都先要表示抱歉。Sorry to stop all the fun, sorry，your attention，please。意思是：请大家稍停一下，听我讲几句。
Zoe ：He says: The reason we are here tonight is to wish Manni a very happy eighteenth birthday。...
Cui ：我们今天晚上在这里聚会的原因/理由是...The reason is ...the reason是名词，加一个定语从句修饰，然后再接句子的谓语 "is to"
The reason we are here tonight is ...我们今天晚上在这里聚会的原因/理由是
The reason we are studying English is ...我们学习英语的原因是...
The reason I like the character Manni is ...我喜欢马尼这个角色的原因是...
The reason I go back home early is... 我回家早的原因是
Zoe ：Paul adds: Wish him all the best of luck while he`s with us here at the London Rangers.
Cui ：祝愿他走好运。All the best of luck是一种很强烈的表达方式，在人群面前这样说会比较有煽动性。
Zoe ：And Paul says：We all hope you make it as part of the team. And now maybe Manni would like to say a few words。
Cui ：Paul说希望你成为我们球队的一部分。接着又适时地把话头交给马尼。And now maybe Manni would like to say a few words。
Zoe ：Manni is not very confident，he says, "I don't know if I will be a good footballer."
Cui ：Manni把足球运动员叫footballer，球员常自称baller, 此词来源于热爱球类运动的贫民语言，但是在一般场合和评论员用语中，我们最好更多使用football player 一词，我们记得第一集中，凶恶的保安把球员叫baller. 因为baller 也可能有轻蔑的含义。
Z：Another very useful party words is ：when you want to invite sb to have a speech，you may say：Hei，let`s here it for sb。
C：Let's hear 直译是让我们听呀, for somebody 是为某人欢呼/举杯。此时参加聚会的人就会欢呼，chears,yeah 。有些人也会举杯，表示庆祝（并不强调干杯，或一饮而尽）。Let's heat it for马尼，让我们为马尼欢呼/祝酒。
Zoe ：Manni said politely，thank you for the party。Paul said：It`s no problem。It's a good way of getting to know you.
Cui ：“举行晚会是结识你的一种好办法”Paul 和Manni的话都是社交用语。聚会时常用的套话，我们最好能记住。
崔：马尼要走，Paul还是百般阻拦
Zoe：Paul said You can go，on one condition，we`ll go back to your hotel for one last drink。
Cui：on one condition得有一个条件，one last drink。最后再喝一杯。我们上集说过，drink是可数名词。So we can say ：one last drink。
Z：Oh，I`m really worry about Manni，he might get exhausted after the party。Let`s go on with the story。
Cui ：Rangers队员大部分都住在Millhouse旅馆，但实际上旅馆规定是不能在旅馆里开party的。
Zoe ：So，when they entered the Hotel，Paul said to Emma：make sure Charlie`s out of the way -we don`t want to get Manni into trouble。
崔：Paul 让 Emma 去确保 Charlie别来管这边的事，out of the way不管这里事，这样就不会给马尼带来麻烦了，get Manni into trouble。
Zoe：But what Paul did to Manni is really bring him a lot of trouble。
Cui ：Manni不愿扫别人的兴，只好做出让步。
Zoe ：Manni says: No, it's OK. We can continue the party for a while...
Cui ：Emma 很担心，追问，Are you sure? Manni 却回答，Yes, yes.
Zoe：At this moment，Paul received a phone call from Alex, he said "I tried to stop them，obviously，but they all went back to the Millhouse"
Cui ：Paul 给Manni 使坏，下绊子，说：“晚会还在进行...我设法阻止他们...”Paul真是个两面派。
Zoe ：Emma says to Paul: Don't you think it's time we let Manni get some sleep? Paul answers: We're just have fun, darling.
崔：亲爱的，我们还在兴头上。Paul鼓动大家玩儿游戏，接着闹，我们接着往下看，马尼可能要倒霉了。
Cui：保罗知道埃里克斯马上就要来旅馆察看，打手势把吉姆从马尼房间推出去，想乘势溜掉。吉姆被弄得莫名其妙，一头雾水，他问 What's going on?出什么事了？你这是干嘛？
Zoe ：Paul says, " It might be time for us to get out of here."
Cui：他说是离开这儿的时候了。吉姆追问：Why, what's up?你搞什么鬼呢？保罗回答，
Zoe ：Trust me, you won't want to be here in a minute...
